About Visit Herts

Visit Herts is the official visitor and business tourism service for Hertfordshire. It works with attractions, accommodation and destinations across the county to promote Hertfordshire to local, national and international visitors.

Visit Herts is part of destination management specialists Go To Places Ltd., and works in partnership with Hertfordshire LEP and Hertfordshire County Council, as well as the county’s district councils, transport providers and tourism businesses.

Hertfordshire's visitor economy

  1. The county's visitor economy topped £2.4 billion for the first time ever in 2019
  2. £139 million was spent on average in the local economy each month as a direct result of the county’s tourism and hospitality industry
  3. 29 million visitors were welcomed during the year
  4. The number of tourism jobs increased by 8% between 2017 and 2019, to 43,390
  5. Tourism jobs accounted for 7% of total employment in Hertfordshire in 2019
