Hertfordshire LEP investment has enabled Hertford Regional College to invest in new equipment to bring its electrical training workshop up to industry standard. The equipment includes new assessment and training bays, conduit bending machines, safe isolation kits, and inspection and test equipment. The upgraded workshop was re-opened in June 2018.

Why?
This investment has enabled Hertford Regional College to ensure learners are wholly prepared for a future career in the industry to help meet the skills needs of local employers. The college took the decision to upgrade its facilities following the publication of the 'Apprenticeship Standards' in October 2017, which set out the industry requirements for this sector.

Funding
Hertfordshire LEP invested £50k from the Local Growth Fund towards the total project cost of £110k.

This project was approved by the board on the 7th September 2017.
